About This Destination

Desa Ende is a beautifully preserved indigenous Sasak hamlet situated just a short drive from Lombok International Airport. Quieter and more intimate than neighboring Sade, Ende is home to about thirty families who choose to live in traditional clay-and-cow-dung floor houses with alang-alang thatched roofs, keeping ancestral customs and rituals vibrantly alive without modern electricity.

Key Highlights & Activities

  • Authentic living Sasak community of around 30 families
  • Distinctive Bale Tani architecture built with clay, bamboo & thatch
  • Intimate guided walking tours led directly by community elders
  • Live demonstration of Peresean stick-and-shield martial arts
Good to Know & Travel AdviceVisits are guided by a village resident; a voluntary community donation (usually IDR 50k–100k) is customary. • Ask your guide about the unique clay-and-buffalo-dung floor tradition that naturally repels mosquitoes and dust. • Photography is welcome and locals are warm, but always ask before photographing elders inside their homes.
